10 Most Important Tips

on

Choosing the Right Photographer

1.         Years of Experience.  It takes quite a few years to develop the ability to take several hundred pictures of your wedding and give you the assurance that they are all good.  Our brides tell us how great the pictures are even before we leave the reception.

2.         Track Record.  Customer satisfaction should be a guarantee—not just a goal.  Newer photographers are lacking in experience and training.  They love to take pictures, but they are practicing on you and charging you for a lot of extra pictures that would never make it into your album as favorites.

3.         Talent.  A photographer with talent doesn’t need to take over 1,000 pictures of your wedding to come up with the best angles.  We all love what we do—that doesn’t necessarily mean that all wedding photographers are good at it.

4.         Technical Skill.  Anyone with the latest digital camera equipment and minimal skills can take snapshots of your wedding.  Proper lighting along with timing and attention to detail assure you of consistent quality and much better images.

5.         People Skills.  It’s the most wonderful day of your life, but you’ll probably be a little nervous and a little distracted while caught up in the moment.   You need a photographer who works well with you, your family, wedding party and guests to smoothly capture all the details.

6.         Back-up Equipment.  Don’t trust your once-in-a-lifetime wedding memories to a once-in-a-while photographer with a nice new camera and no back-ups.  We even bring multiple back-ups to assure you of minimal interruptions to your day.

7.         Convenient Studio Facility.  Many wedding photographers operate out of their homes.  Look in the Yellow Pages—how many photographers list an address for their business?  Very convenient for them—not so convenient for you.  We offer you the added value of engagement and bridal portraits in a studio with a variety of indoor and outdoor backgrounds and plenty of parking that is right outside our front door.

8.         Final Product.  An increasing number of photographers offer you a stack of 400-600 4x6-inch prints and a so-called high resolution CD of your images.  They expect you to make your own enlargements and your own album.  We have found that people usually don’t get around to getting this job done—so we offer complete packages with albums that we design using your favorite images.  Our enlargements are made from much larger digital camera files for better color and more detail.

9.         Specials and Included Services.  Face it—photography is not cheap.  We give you more value by including services that are usually extra—retouching of images, newspaper pictures, free engagement and bridal sessions.  All of our prints are protected with satin or gloss lamination at no additional charge-something you can’t get at WalMart.

10.       Guarantees and Customer Service.  Our quality is 100% guaranteed.  From retouching to printing and finishing, if you’re not happy with something, we’ll fix it.
